Distinctionary: n: an ever-growing collection of living evolving distinctions, accompanied by descriptions and examples, and intended to evoke generative possibility. This distinctionary challenges us to see language as a creative medium with which we can explore new territory, tell new stories, and sketch out visions of a vastly more rewarding and sustainable future for all humans. A dictionary, on the other hand, defines and maps existing linguistic territory. A dictionary is intended to be "objective" and value-free. This distinctionary is not the last word—it is a beginning and a becoming. It is neither objective nor value-free. You might think of it as a set of ever-evolving conceptual lenses for seeing new, more generative possibilities — or, you might consider it a collection of linguistic enzymes intended to catalyze imaginative thinking, seeing and being.
